Hydra for Mac is a program that is capable of mixing several overexposed and underexposed images to create one image whose appearance is similar to having taken a direct shot of the captured object.

The images that Hydra uses are not required to be taken with a tripod, as it is usually the case with HDR software.

According to the developers, Hydra uses a number of regular photographs (up to ten) with different exposures (darker and lighter) to create a superior one which is much closer to what the naked eye actually sees.

The program can run independently or as a plugin for Aperture. It can combine up to 10 images with different exposures and it supports photos of up to 20 megapixels.

Hydra comes with a collection of simple yet very powerful tools that can superimpose multiple images in order to overcome your camera’s limitations when it comes to capturing different luminosity levels.
